EANM Committees

  • Join one of our Committees and contribute to the scientific pillars of our association by developing publications, the scientific programme of our Annual Congress, educational activities, and other initiatives.

EANM Project Groups

  • Express your interest in collaborating on specific projects with the EANM Committees and Councils.This short-term and flexible format allows you to contribute to EANM while expanding your network and expertise! 

EANM Inflammation & Infection Committee

The EANM Inflammation & Infection Committee is seeking a new member to support its ongoing scientific, educational, and guideline-development activities. EANM is therefore launching an open call for candidates interested in contributing to the work of this committee. The official committee membership term will start in January 2026.

Candidate Requirements
Nuclear medicine physicians with professional and scientific backgrounds in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Infection and inflammation imaging
  • Experience in education or training activities (e.g., webinars, courses, teaching)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively

New members will contribute to:

  • planning scientific sessions for the annual EANM Congress,
  • developing procedural and clinical guidelines,
  • teaching through ESMIT.

The roles within a Committee involve regular online meetings, preparatory work, and approximately 2–3 days of travel 1–2 times per year.

EANM Thyroid Committee

As part of the further development of the EANM Committee structure, the EANM Thyroid Committee will broaden its scope to include endocrine diseases. The current Committee will enter a transition phase in 2026, evolving into the future EANM Thyroid & Endocrinology Committee, which will be fully established in 2027. To support this transition, the newly selected members will begin their activities already in 2026. EANM is therefore launching an open call for new committee members.

Candidate Requirements
Nuclear medicine physicians with professional and scientific backgrounds and expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Thyroid: benign and malignant thyroid disease
  • Neuroendocrine tumours: imaging and/or therapy
  • Parathyroid: hyperparathyroidism
  • Adrenal cortex/medulla and endocrine pancreatic benign diseases
  • Metabolic bone disease, including bone densitometry

New members will contribute to:

  • planning scientific sessions for the annual EANM meeting,
  • developing procedural and clinical guidelines,
    teaching through ESMIT.

The roles within a committee involve regular online meetings, preparatory work, and approximately 2–3 days of travel 1–2 times per year.

EANM Cardiovascular Committee

The EANM Cardiovascular Committee is seeking new members to join a team of passionate nuclear cardiologists dedicated to advancing and promoting the field of cardiovascular nuclear medicine. The newly selected members will begin their term in January 2026.

Candidate Requirements
Nuclear medicine physicians with professional and scientific backgrounds and expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Myocardial perfusion imaging with SPECT and PET
  • Cardiac amyloidosis
  • Cardiovascular inflammation and infection imaging (e.g., cardiac sarcoidosis, infective endocarditis)
  • New radiopharmaceuticals for cardiovascular imaging; translational research
  • Hybrid imaging (PET-CT, PET-MRI)
  • Cardiovascular software (cardiac reconstructions, modelling of myocardial blood flow, AI, etc.)

Strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively, are strongly encouraged.

New members will contribute to:

  • planning scientific sessions for the annual EANM Congress,
  • developing procedural and clinical guidelines,
  • teaching through ESMIT.

The roles within a Committee involve regular online meetings, preparatory work, and approximately 2–3 days of travel for 1–2 meetings per year.

EANM Radiation Protection Committee

The EANM Radiation Protection Committee is seeking new members to strengthen its mission of providing clear guidance and education on radiation protection within the nuclear medicine community. Radiation protection is integrated into every aspect of clinical practice — from justification at the bedside to optimisation of imaging systems — ensuring that innovation is balanced with responsibility. The Committee plays a key role in supporting this responsibility across the EANM.

Candidate Requirements
Nuclear medicine physicians or physicists with professional and scientific backgrounds and expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • AI impact on radiation protection
  • Breastfeeding and nuclear medicine procedures
  • The pregnant patient
  • Extravasation situations
  • Release of patients after radionuclide therapies

New members will contribute to:

  • planning scientific sessions for the annual EANM Congress,
  • developing procedural and clinical guidelines,
  • teaching through ESMIT.

The roles within a Committee involve regular online meetings, preparatory work, and approximately 2–3 days of travel 1–2 times per year.
