The EANM Board currently comprises seven main positions. Together, the Board shapes the organisation’s strategy and represents the EANM.
1. President: The EANM President serves as the primary representative to external stakeholders (e.g., partner organisations, clinical societies, and industry partners). The President leads the Board and jointly manages the budget with the Secretary/Treasurer.
2. President Elect: The President Elect prepares for the upcoming presidency during the two years following election. The President Elect participates in activities and representational events, substitutes for the President when absent, and assumes the role in case of early resignation or incapacity.
3. Secretary/Treasurer: The Secretary/Treasurer manages the EANM’s budget, approves and oversees nominations of National Delegates and Deputies, and supervises the EANM Board elections. The Secretary/Treasurer also stands in for the President Elect when necessary.
4. Scientific Liaison Officer: The Scientific Liaison Officer (SLO) collaborates with the EANM Policy & Regulatory Affairs Council (PRAC) to coordinate the organisation’s involvement in EU projects and tenders. The SLO streamlines policy and networking activities and represents the Board on matters related to the EANM Forschungs GmbH (EARL).
5. Internal Groups Officer: The Internal Groups Officer (IGO) is responsible for establishing or dissolving internal groups and structures, coordinating activities of the EANM Committees and Councils, and chairing the Advisory Council.
6. Education Chair: The Education Chair proposes strategies for all educational activities and oversees the European School of Multimodality Imaging and Therapy (ESMIT). The EANM is restructuring to launch an Education Council in January 2026, with the current Education Chair leading until January 2027.
7. Congress Chair: The Congress Chair develops the Scientific Programme for the EANM Annual Congress and designs and leads the opening and closing ceremonies with the support of the Executive Office.
