Press release: Launch of EANM's own two new journals
Vienna, Austria I February 27, 2025
EANM announces the launch of its own two new journals, following the end of its partnership with Springer Nature and the EJNMMI journals collection.
A bold step for scientific excellence
EANM is proud to announce the upcoming launch of its own two journals in 2025. This strategic move follows the conclusion of a long-standing partnership with the publisher Springer Nature and the EJNMMI journals collection. With this initiative, EANM takes an exciting step forward, establishing its own platform to drive innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and strengthen collaboration with allied sciences. Aiming to make high-impact discoveries in nuclear medicine accessible to all, the new journals will be fully open access.
“The EANM Board decided to take this bold step in the best interest of EANM and with a clear long-term goal in mind. We are placing science at the heart of the journals’ mission to fulfill the EANM’s purpose of enhancing public health, advancing patient care, and promoting scientific exchange in the field of nuclear medicine.” – explains Prof. Paola Anna Erba, EANM President – “To this aim, the new journals will provide the necessary support, accessibility, and visibility that the work of our community truly deserves.”
New platforms for the nuclear medicine community
The Editor-in-Chief of the new journal family, Prof. Arturo Chiti, added: “The EANM journals, one flagship and one broader-scope journal, aim to become the preferred platforms for scientists working in the multidisciplinary and multiprofessional field of nuclear medicine.
The vision of our flagship journal is to establish itself as the world’s leading journal in nuclear medicine and allied sciences, attracting the most significant contributions in the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiopharmaceuticals.
Our broader-scope journal aspires to become the leading reference journal for the applications of nuclear medicine, highlighting key contributions from various professionals in the field and fostering the dissemination of knowledge within the scientific community.”
The new journals are committed to making the author experience as seamless as possible, offering a flexible-format first submission and striving to provide a quick and efficient peer-review process.
