Advocacy Training Programme
Apply for our year-long programme to become a stronger advocate for nuclear medicine
Take a seat at the table!
The EANM Advocacy Training Programme is designed for experienced professionals in nuclear medicine who wish to strengthen their understanding of the European policy landscape and contribute to advocacy activities supporting the field.
The programme brings together senior professionals from across EU Member States to explore policy developments relevant to nuclear medicine, discuss challenges and opportunities facing the specialty, and examine how expert knowledge can support engagement with policymakers and other stakeholders.
Through a combination of online and in-person sessions, participants will gain insight into European decision-making processes, stakeholder engagement and current policy priorities affecting nuclear medicine.

Who is it for:
The programme is intended for established professionals with significant experience in nuclear medicine and related disciplines, including:
- clinical practice
- radiopharmacy
- radiochemistry
- medical physics
- operation of equipment
- patient care
- academia and research
- and others
Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in the wider policy environment affecting healthcare and nuclear medicine, as well as the ability to contribute their expertise, experience and professional networks to discussions and advocacy activities.
Please note this programme is only open to EU nationals/professionals employed in the EU.
Programme format:
- An in-person workshop during the EANM’26 Congress in Vienna (Wednesday, October 21 08:15-11:15)
- Four online sessions held throughout the year
- A concluding in-person workshop in Brussels in June 2027
The programme will address topics including:
- European healthcare policy and decision-making
- The role of scientific and clinical expertise in policy discussions
- Stakeholder engagement and policy communication
- Current policy developments relevant to nuclear medicine
- Advocacy approaches and practical case studies
Expected outcomes:
- Understand the European policy landscape and its relevance to nuclear medicine, including the institutions, processes and stakeholders that influence healthcare decision-making.
- Support the dialogue with with policymakers and stakeholders, translating scientific and clinical evidence into clear, relevant and impactful messages.
- Contribute to EANM’s advocacy activities alongside the EANM Policy & Regulatory Affairs Council (PRAC) by providing expert input, supporting policy initiatives and representing the interests of the nuclear medicine community where appropriate.
- Act as informed ambassadors for nuclear medicine, promoting the value of the specialty and supporting evidence-based policy that improves patient access to nuclear medicine services and innovation.
