EANM, in collaboration with the European Union of Medical Specialists/European Board of Nuclear Medicine (UEMS/EBNM), is proud to announce the release of the 2026 edition of the European Nuclear Medicine Guide—a comprehensive, up-to-date resource for nuclear medicine professionals across Europe and beyond.
The journey began in 2016, when the incumbent EANM Presidents and UEMS/EBNM initiated a project to develop a concise yet thorough guide for nuclear medicine practice. This essential handbook, created by and for the nuclear medicine community, was first launched in October 2018. In 2020, the guide underwent extensive revision and expansion, introducing new chapters to further enhance its value.
Thanks to the contributions of numerous authors and a dedicated editorial board, the guide has been significantly revised once again in 2026 as part of our ongoing commitment to remain at the forefront of nuclear medicine research and practice. This latest edition ensures that the content reflects the most recent advancements and best practices in the field.
The European Nuclear Medicine Guide offers a comprehensive overview of a wide range of topics, including:
- Nuclear medicine-related basic science and technical procedures
- In vivo imaging with radiopharmaceuticals
- Hybrid/multimodality imaging
- Radionuclide-guided surgery
- Dosimetry
- Techniques related to nuclear physics in medicine
- Medical applications of radiobiology and radiation protection
- Accessibility and Free Access
In line with our commitment to knowledge-sharing, the European Nuclear Medicine Guide is available online to everyone, at no cost. Users can access the guide in two formats: a browser-based online version, ideal for computers, or a mobile app for smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android).
